Formica Backed by Small Business Group
AVON, CONNECTICUT -- Paul Formica, Republican and Independent Party candidate for State Senate, has been endorsed by the state’s largest small business organization.
The state chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business SAFE Trust (Save America’s Free Enterprise) has endorsed Formica in his run for the 20th State Senate District race, which includes the communities of Bozrah, Old Saybrook, Salem, Montville, New London, East Lyme, Old Lyme and Waterford.
“It is a real honor to be endorsed by fellow business owners and leaders,” said Formica, the owner of Flanders Fish Market, a family restaurant and retail store in East Lyme. “We are reminded every day that the heartbeat of our economy is provided by hard working entrepreneurs who create jobs and opportunity.”
Formica, who has served in NFIB leadership roles, said his top priority was to bring his experience as business owner to reform the state’s tax policies, reduce state spending and burdensome regulations.
NFIB is Connecticut’s and the nation’s leading small business association, with offices in Washington, D.C. and all 50 state capitals. Founded in 1943 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFIB gives small and independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their business. NFIB’s powerful network of grassroots activists sends their views directly to state and federal lawmakers through our unique member-only ballot, thus playing a critical role in supporting America’s free enterprise system.
NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of our members to own, operate and grow their businesses. More information about NFIB is available online at www.NFIB.com.”
