Formica Issues #FormicaChallenge
EAST LYME – Paul Formica the Republican candidate for the 20th State Senate district, Tuesday issued the #FormicaChallenge on his campaign’s official Facebook page.
“Here in East Lyme when we started with our budget I challenged our department heads to not spend 1.5% of their budget and return the funds to the town. I offer the same challenge the same to all candidates in the state receiving state campaign financing. Let’s be efficient and return 1.5% of each of our campaigns back to the state of Connecticut. I am going to do it and hope you will, too.”
According to the State Election Enforcement Commission webpage the grants vary from $27,850 for State Representative to over $6.5 million for governor. If every candidate accepts the #FormicaChallenge it would mean hundreds of thousands of dollars returned to the state.
